Aerial Views,Cranborne Chase - South Coast

Airy
- fairy (and "with the greatest of ease")*...
...we take
off, soaring upwards, with a backward look at Air Compton's rather short-looking
strip near Shaftesbury, Dorset. It's a "gin-clear" anti-cyclonic
day, over Cranborne Chase. The landscape below is sharply etched:
a delight to the aviator's eye. Flight Plan:- Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bournemouth
on the South Coast, and return.
So much to take
in on a day like this:- passing the chalk-cut regimental badges at Fovant,
our Cessna then places us over Stonehenge. Modern Humans, pondering
Megalithic Man.
*Popular
song of a bygone age - "He flies through the air with the greatest of ease,
that daring young man..."
