Pensford to Hallatrow |

Before we leave, and cross the viaduct, you may
care to have another look at the station building, positioned high up off
the steep main road (A37) heading up out of Pensford, (going North) towards
Bristol. By definition it has to be high, for the line to continue on across
the viaduct.
Like the A38 pre-motorway, the A37 carries very heavy traffic, crying out for a rail alternative. |
| The village is well below, as we cross. Fascinating
former mining communities, fascinating country, and home to world-famous
musician Acker Bilk. The stone circles at Stanton Drew are only a mile
or two away, behind us on the other side of the viaduct.
